The third day of E3 kicked off with the PC Gaming Show, where presenters gave more information on games and other hardware we can expect to see in the near future. The session gave a few surprises, along with things were already anticipating. Here are some of the highlights.
Intel wants to bring Virtual Reality everywhere it goes.
Intel wasn’t shy about its plans for Virtual Reality on Monday. On top of announcing a wide variety of VR-based games such as Echo Arena, the company gave more details on how they plan on bringing the technology to the world of esports. Intel said its goal was to give spectators an immersive esports viewing experience, putting them right where the action is. With technology on both ends needed to accomplish this, Intel announced that it will be the exclusive technology provider for ESL all around the world. While it may take some time to accomplish, it will be interesting to see how Intel plans to carry out all of its VR plans.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has lots more on the way
As one of the most successful game betas in recent memory, the PC smash hit PlayerUnknown’s Battleground is getting some TLC prior to its official release date. With over 3 million copies sold around the world, PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene announced some mechanics to help optimize gameplay, such as vaulting and climbing over obstacles. Greene also announced that two new maps and 3D replays will be coming to the game in a later update.
Age of Empires is getting re-released

The PC Gaming Show ended off on a high note with the announcement of Age of Empires: Definitive Edition coming to PC later this year. With a remastered soundtrack and new controls for both combat and controlling the camera, Microsoft creative director Adam Isgreen said every single asset of the game has been redone in 4K. On top of all this, the game’s multiplayer mode will be set up via Xbox Live, allowing for players from all over the world to play the game seamlessly with one another.
