Last November, Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts announced they would be working together to create Nintendo-themed sections inside three of the Universal theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka. The areas will be decorated with everything we’ve seen from some of Nintendo’s most iconic franchises, giving guests the ability to live in the worlds they grew up playing in.

“The new themed areas come as the result of a global partnership between Universal Parks & Resorts and Nintendo – two icons of the entertainment world. Universal theme parks create incredibly popular family entertainment experiences for millions of people based on compelling characters, stories and innovative technology. Nintendo creates remarkable and imaginative games filled with captivating stories and beloved characters,” said representatives from Universal Parks & Resorts in a written statement.

Now, pictures are starting to surface online, showing what has been started and offering fans a taste of what they can expect to see when the project officially opens to the public. A fan on Twitter tweeted out these images of early prototypes that will be used in the theme parks. Universal Parks & Resorts have yet to announce when exactly the exhibitions will be open, but early estimates say they won’t be open for at least a couple of years.
