November is here. It’s too early to start watching Christmas movies, and it’s too late to start watching horror movies—unless you actually like them—so what should you watch? Netflix offers a lot of choices. In fact, Netflix has added more than 70 titles to its library in the past week.
But what’s good? When the choices are that plentiful, it’s not always easy to make a decision. We’ve got you covered. Here’s our top three picks for the weekend.
Stranger Things Season 2
You had to know this was coming, right? Stranger Things is all the rage right now. Our favourite nerds are back to tackle their biggest challenge yet. Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s best original titles to date, and season two hasn’t let us down yet.
Stranger Things season two is a pretty solid post-Halloween choice. The season starts with Halloween, so it feels pretty timely to watch. With the obvious exception that it takes place in the 80s.
Stranger Things starts about a year later before the end of the first season. Grab your leftover candy and put up your feet, because it’s going to be a wild wild.
Logan
I feel like a lot of people missed out on Logan when it hit the theatres. Logan is a bit different than your typical X-Men film because it’s extremely brutal.
Logan is an R-rated adaptation on the Old Man Logan series, but is has received a few changes along the way. It’s easily Wolverine’s best standalone film. Don’t be afraid to give Logan a chance even if you didn’t like Hugh Jackman’s first two attempts at a solo film.
Logan has lots of twists and turns—and it’s definitely not suitable for kids—and if you’re looking for a really strong superhero story, this is the title for you. Check it out during your Stranger Things breaks.
The Shawshank Redemption
What good would a Netflix subscription be without really good classic films? Part of the beauty of on-demand digital is the ability to connect with things you’ve lost. The Shawshank Redemption might not be new, but it’s definitely worth getting in touch with.
The Shawshank Redemption is more than just a film about time in prison. It’s about making connections and growing through those friendships.
If that’s not enough to get you interested, the movie does have a stellar performance from Morgan Freeman. That smooth voice is suitable for any occasion. Check out The Shawshank Redemption on Netflix if you’re looking to get lost in a really good classic film.
